There is an aura of stillness that appears in my favorite images. Whether that stillness holds serenity or anxiety depends on the interpretation of the viewer. I create frozen moments that tell stories, a moment before or a moment after that often speak volumes. Elements of a narrative pervade my work. I am inspired by Italy, a place I have visited often, and the feminine experience. I am Cajun French and Italian by birth, and also a woman who was raised by two women. Both are culturally ingrained into every part of my being, my life, and, therefore, my art. My images are often deeply personal. I strive to detach myself from them and to achieve an ambiguity that can be left up to interpretation, as well as circling back around to the stillness and interaction between my art and the viewer.
